Abstract

JUSTEL, Nadia; PSYRDELLIS, Mariana  and  RUETTI, Eliana. Evaluation and modulation of emotional memory: a preliminary study. Anu. investig. [online]. 2013, vol.20, n.1, pp.365-368. ISSN 1851-1686.

The mail goal of this study was to assess the memory with different emotional content, and analyze if the performance of a task, with different levels of complexity, modulated the posterior recall of the participants.With this objective in mind 64 students watched 24 emotional and 24 neutral images. Then, they received a high or low stressor or no stress at all. One week later they were evaluated in a free recall test. As results the emotional images were remember more than the neutral ones. There were no differences between the groups related to the stressor. According to this, the emotional content acts as a neuromodulator facilitating the consolidation of the emotional images.
