Abstract

LAVATELLI, Lucía; AISENSON, Gabriela  and  DE MARCO, Mariana. The importance of networks and support. Anu. investig. [online]. 2014, vol.21, n.1, pp.93-103. ISSN 1851-1686.

Nowadays, Young people from vulnerable communities are facing greater dificulties in entering both academic and working enviroments. Reducing therefore their future opportunities and accomplishment of life projects and goals. However, from a dynamic perspective of their trajectory and within the same socio-cultural environment, material and symbolic resources as well as their expectations, strategies, family and social support can be changed resulting indeed in heterogeneous personal development and different life trajectories. This article arises from a PhD thesis that aims to identify how young people from vulnerable social groups build their projects and trajectories, considering their significant insertions in different contexts and the subjective processes involved. Beyond the different topics addressed by the research project, this article focuses on the significance of the trajectories and also on the resources and support networks that young people have to build their trajectory and personal development. (Bourdieu, 1998; Aisenson et al., 2003) From preliminary results, it is noticeable the importance that those support groups and networks built by themselves have, as well as nourishing and giving a new sense to their projects, by providing identificatory role models.

Keywords : Trajectories; Network / Support; Vulnerable Youth.
