Resumen

The paper emphasized the importance of research in mental health and specially to redeine childhood actions based on data closer to reality. Objective: evaluative analysis of a community care program for children and adolescents (Ch&A) with severe mental problems in Buenos Aires City in order to research the integral actions, accessibility, and interaction with the system of effectors considering the current situation of users. Methodology: a descriptive, exploratory qualitative and quantitative analytical cross-sectional design, with a non-probabilistic intentional sample consists of all of the medical histories of all Ch&A in 2009-2010. Results: The program get its founding objectives, provided care to a group of mostly Ch&A - institutionalized in house-holds (61%) - with significant psychological suffering and psychosocial vulnerability, improving accessibility and overall conditions. Designed and implemented comprehensive, territorialized answers. The program assured effective intersectorial responses resulting to a positive evaluation.
