Abstract

Flow is a subjective state in which the person is absorbed in an activity for his own enjoyment, during which time loses track and experience a great satisfaction (Csikszentmihalyi,1990). Personality traits are dispositions that explain individual differences in our behaviour in many different situations and types of variably expressed under the influence of culture (Leibovich de Figueroa & Schmidt, 2009, 2010 ; McCrae, 2009). Objective: To describe the positive experiences of enjoyment (flow), and their relation to personality characteristics in college students. Instruments: Sociodemographic Questionnaire. NEO -PIR (Costa & McCrae, 1992 - Adaptation: Leibovich de Figueroa & Schmidt 2005). Brief flow state questionnaire (Leibovich de Figueroa, N., 2011). Conclusions: Subjects with high scores on Flow showed significantly different values in personality facets (Warmth, Positive Emotions, Ideas, Trust, Altruism, Sense of Duty, Effort Achievement) and domains (Conscientiousness).
