Abstract

Arterial hypertension affects preferentially three target organs: heart, kidney, and brain. The treatment and routine control of pressure could prevent cardiovascular, cerebrovascular and renal diseases, and delay cognitive decline. The aim of this research is to present partial results of the Project "Characterization of Psychological Profile and Early Detection of Cognitive disorders" (PROINPSI 2012-2014). Twenty six hypertensive patients between 35 and 75 years old have been selected, from both sexes. Patients assist the Center of Arterial Hypertension of Cardiology Research Institute, Dr. Alberto Taquini". After obtaining informed consensus and having read their medical histories, selected techniques were individually assessed: Hypertension Survey, Rorschach Psychodiagnosis and Mini Battery of Cognitive Eficiency. The protocols were codified and the variables were processed, scales ESPA and EFYR were applied, and subsequently, the dumped information in the database, was analyzed to obtain results and conclusions.
