RODRIGUEZ, Lucila et al. About the failure of the paternal function: the psychosomatic phenomenon. Clinical distinctive features. Anu. investig. [online]. 2014, vol.21, n.2, pp.127-130. ISSN 1851-1686.
This investigation is being held in the context of the UBACyT Project "NEW CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE TREATMENT OF PSYCHOSOMATIC ILLNESSES WITHIN THE LACANIAN PSYCHOANALYTICAL FRAMEWORK" directed by Liliana Szapiro at the Psychology Faculty, Buenos Aires University. Psychosomatic illnesses may be triggered by specific occasions in which the Name-of-the-Father is summoned but fails to operate successfully. In the psychosomatic occurrence there appear body signals which respond to a signifying "holoprhased" chain. We have based our research on our own psychoanalytical practice, in line with the cure oriented to the Name-of-the-Father reparation or substitution, related to symbolical nomination. In this paper, we present a clinical case in which we verify the triggering of the phenomenon articulated to a special occasion, when the paternal function fails to operate.
