This work exposes the results of a research held around the subjective effects produced by the act of testifying in court cases for human rights violations during the last civil-military dictatorship in Argentina. It was assumed that the way in which witnesses are spoken to has effects and produces a certain kind of witness, causing consequences in testimony. An analysis of the voices speaking to witnesses was carried out. Interviews with judges, prosecutors, lawyers and psychologists accompanying witnesses have been analyzed. The analysis of the interviews shows that the witness is the central figure in human rights violations court cases, reason why he or she will be either attacked or defended depending on the interests at stake.
