DELFINO, Gisela I. e BERAMENDI, Maite R.. An analysis of trust and civic interest in Argentina: a study of data from the World Values Survey 1984-2013. Anu. investig. [online]. 2015, vol.22, n.1, pp.189-196. ISSN 1851-1686.
Based on the 6 free and open available waves (total n = 6398) of the World Values Survey (WVS), the profile of argentine political culture and its variations over 3 decades is analyzed. Political culture refers to a subjective mass phenomenon that consists in orientations to key objects of political system and the role of individuals in it. Argentina’s political culture is characterized by low interpersonal trust, middle-low level of trust in national institutions, interest in politics and civic competence, average level of achievement motivation and high levels of social tolerance and national pride. Marked and steady decline of confidence in Congress and in legal system, that began in 1991, stands out in comparisons between different years, being legal system the worst evaluated in 2013.
