Abstract

FERNANDEZ, Omar; SOSA, Fernanda  and  ZUBIETA, Elena. Collective memory and differential positioning: figures of argentina history in psychology students. Anu. investig. [online]. 2015, vol.22, n.1, pp.197-206. ISSN 1851-1686.

In recent years, there has been a particular interest in the area of collective memory in studying history from the perspective of Social Representations Theory due to its relevance as a representational object. In this vein, the overall objective of this paper is to analyze the characters of Argentina’s history that a group of 144 psychology students cited as most important, and explore differential positioning related to religion and ideological positioning. For data analysis the structural approach, or the central nucleus theory of social representations (Abric, 2001), was used. The results show the strong presence of a scientific and military bias in participants. In terms of anchoring or differential positioning, differences show up when grouping participants according self- ideological positioning.
