This article is part of the master´s scholarship plan: “Character: defense against the real and /or testimony of the real itself. A conceptual journey and its impact on clinical psychoanalysis”. Its framework is 2013-2016 UBACyT Project: “Symptom- Sinthome: The freudian fingerprints on the last teaching of Lacan”, directed by Prof. Dr. Osvaldo L. Delgado. This paper aims to examine the concepts: symptom and character, in Freud’s work with the aim to investigate an aspect of the character susceptible to the interpretation proposed by Freud in his development; and, on the other hand, to relect on the relationship between the core of the refractory symptom to the interpretation and the concept of character trait.
