MUNOZ, Pablo D.. Resistance to freedom in the direction of the treatment. Anu. investig. [online]. 2015, vol.22, n.2, pp.143-153. ISSN 1851-1686.

This article presents some conclusions of the research project UBACyT: 2014-2017: “Articulation of J. Lacan freedom conceptualizations with the fundamental concepts that structure the direction of the treatment: interpretation, transfer, analyst’s position, free association and analytic act” directed by the author. J. Lacan has developed in 1958 a formalization of psychoanalytic treatment based on the triad tactics, strategy and policy taken from the theory of war. With this terms discusses some Freudian concepts about technique, sorted by a decreasing degree of freedom from which the action of the analyst is absolutely free at the level of interpretation, less free at the transfer management level, freedoms that are restricted to the maximum at the level of the lack in being (manque-à- etre). The problem of freedom in psychoanalysis, traditionally opposed to determinism, crosses many aspects, both theoretical and practical. However, the oppositional relationship between terms is not only paradoxical insofar that the speaking being has no access to full freedom nor to an absolute determination, but mainly both belongs to heterogeneous planes, the determinism to the plane of the knowable world objects, freedom corresponds to the plane of ethics as cannot be an object of knowledge. Following the formalization above, in this research project we will evaluate precisely the impact in different J.Lacan conceptualizations about of freedom and determinism in its paradoxical relation in the fundamental concepts that underpin the direction of treatment in psychoanalysis: interpretation, transfer, position of the analyst, free association and analytic act. Not only with the purpose of his conceptual clariication, but above all, in order to draw practical implications for clinical psychology. In this work we discuss the problem of the analyst’s position and that what we will call its resistance to freedom when it deviates from its function.
