This paper presents some results of research and intervention carried out under the program UBACyT "Attitudes towards children's play and adult attachment patterns" (Scientific Program 2012-2015) that articulates with the University's Extension Program "toy libraries neighborhood". The assumed theoretical framework highlights the importance of play as an activity which has an irreplaceable value in structuring the psyche. Conceptualizations about the sequence of development of playful activity in the process of subjective constitution, the need for the "other", through the maternal function, for the deployment of the processes of symbolization and playful activities, positioning it intersubjective as logical antecedent of the subjective plot. And also, conceptualizations of attachment types that inform adults and attitudes towards children's play arise. This work includes results obtained during field research. From the quantitative approach, with standardized instruments applied, as well as from the qualitative, taking some situations fragments exposed in scenes relating to the constitution of the playful function.
