This article explores, comparatively, some of the perceptions that workers in public and private organizations have about workplace violence and the meanings attributed to it. The main objective of the study was to explore, identify and analyze the subjective, interactional and organizational components and factors involved in the expressed or potential production of violence and mobbing in public and private organizations. The inquiry consisted in a non-experimental descriptive empirical cross-sectional study of quantitative and qualitative approach. For this communication some of the findings from the qualitative analysis are presented. 26 semi-structured interviews with workers whose performance is in the public or private sector, with at least six (6) months of seniority in organizations of Buenos Aires City and Greater Buenos Aires were implemented. The analysis of the material is of content type, from four levels of coding -thematic, open, axial, and comparative-, and predefined categories of analysis: Job/Employment; public/private sectors; workplace violence; Forms of mobbing; interactional factors.
