Abstract

RAMIREZ, Omar. El espejo invertido de la realidad: del discurso del desarrollo a la apología de la gestión ambiental. Avá [online]. 2007, n.10, pp.66-77. ISSN 1851-1694.

Constructed and historically conceptualized since the second post-war period, the development -understood as a discursive formulation of the creation of social reality- seems to have been established as one of the main guidelines of civilization's course. Displaying an ensemble of planning strategies and promoting the transformation of territories by means of large development projects, the development aims to present an exclusive -but also excluding- scheme by which facts and events can be interpreted. Such discursive model has been able to advance after annulling, assimilating and excluding different socio-cultural representations and simultaneously offering solutions that can be apparently generalized to the whole of humankind. Nowadays, in the presence of an environmental problem of global scale, the modern environmental management consolidates itself as a global proposal. Taking all this into account, is it possible to recognize a change between the discursive formulation of environmental management and that of development?
