Abstract

RAMIREZ HITA, Susana. Políticas de salud basadas en el concepto de interculturalidad: Los centros de salud intercultural en el altiplano boliviano. Avá [online]. 2009, n.14. ISSN 1851-1694.

One of the most important problems in the health field nowadays in Bolivia is the incorporation of the culture concept to public health politics, which had led to the creation of health centers called "intercultural", as well as the Communitary and Intercultural Model of Family Health. This paper, based on a research project undertaken in 2007 in the Bolivian altiplano, seeks to demonstrate how the culture concept is being used as a basis to implement politics that are not contributing to improve the deficient epidemiological indexes of the country.

Keywords : Public Health; Interculturalidad; Culture; Politics Health.
