Summary in this work we analyze the genealogy of categories used in the Convention by the world heritage of UNESCO, reflecting on the expected consequences or not your application. Likewise, we discuss the theoretical implications of its implementation in the anthropological field. Our argument is based on research we developed throughout the province of Salta and the Humahuaca Creek Estates, and our approach leads us to consider the patrimonial issue as a field of dispute.
