Central in the pre-philosophical Greek thought, physis reflects unity, presence and relationship. Turned into "naturans" by the Romans and "nature" in modern times, it has come to represent a domain where history and culture develop a growing relationship of asymmetry and externality represented by the Cartesian axiom that man should be Lord and Master of nature. However, outside the arc of the hegemonic Western thought there are alternative perceptions about nature equivalents to the physis. Assuming that  there is an original plan for what we call nature - captured by Lévi-Strauss's savage mind (1962)  or by Tim Ingold's animic ontology (2000; 2006) - this text seeks similarities between  pre-philosophical physis and the shamanism of Galibi-Marworno Indians in the Lower Oiapoque River and Uaçá River region (between Brazil and French Guiana borders).
