 This article will talk about the preliminary results of my master's research - still in progress - whose objective is to reflect on the "equivocations" (Viveiros de Castro, 2004) that occur in the implantation of sustainable management of animals projects among the indigenous populations in the Amazon. I intend to show that those equivocations are due to the fact that members of ecological projects and indigenous populations, even with superficial similarities and common interests, would have totally different conceptions and attitudes towards what we call nature and environment, things that do not exist as an autonomous sphere for many of these people. From this discussion, some specific examples of projects in progress or concluded will be focused to establish a dialog with authors who discuss the experiences of "development" among indigenous people.
