Abstract

NARCISO, Lorena. Identitary processes in jails of Santa Fe, Argentina. Avá [online]. 2012, n.20, pp.00-00. ISSN 1851-1694.

This work proposes to think about processes that operate on the identitary constructions inside the penitentiary system of Santa Fe. A big part of the practices of the prison space constitute convencionalizated fictions because the recurrence allows them to insure to occupy a place, which although it is not chosen and optimum to be, this is the one that assures to be recognized, called by others somehow. At the same time, in front of the bold bet which is generated to be different to the others in the game of the prison territorialities, there are regular situations of thresholding that demostrate exchanges and "semiotic turbulences" which penetrate the codes of institutionally and subjectively instituted to relate. The confluence of these processes of ficcionalization and thresholding go constituting the regulatory mold of the abject space, called jail, through “identitaries veils” that conditions the possibilities and openings of other subjective decisions.

Keywords : Penitentiary System; Abjectness; Thresholds; Identitary Veils.
