Resumen

MALDONADO ARANDA, Salvador. Desafíos etnográficos en el estudio de la violencia: Experiencias de una investigación. Avá [online]. 2013, n.22, pp.00-00. ISSN 1851-1694.

Production of ethnographies has regularly meant risks for authors in contexts of war, insurrection or daily violence; however, it seems that now things have become more difficult to think carefully about venturing somewhere and to collect testimonies of ordinary people in uncommon places. Perceptions as the real increase of violence are redefining forms and approaches to knowledge production, which affects the textual representation of reality. What kind of research can we build in contexts where the "logic" of the violence has restructured the anthropologist road map? What kind of knowledge can we offer under realistic conditions? And what roles do our narratives play in the public discourse? In this article I will try to address these dilemmas through my experience on field work in a Mexican region steeped in problems of drug trafficking and organized crime.

Palabras clave : Drugs trafficking; Drugs; Fieldwork; Violence; Ethnography.
