Resumen

CASTILLA, María Victoria. Madres, ciencia y burocracia. Avá [online]. 2013, n.22, pp.00-00. ISSN 1851-1694.

Based on an analysis of the main arguments on kinship and family developed in the Anthropology and based on the results of an ethnographic research in La Plata, in this text I describe and critically analyze the characteristics, contradictions, continuities and/or changes in the dynamics of care, containment and attention that develop the mothers of the new century compared with 1970`s mothers. One of the main arguments is that the neoliberal reforms implemented in Argentina, mainly during 1990, transferred activities (health, housing, security or education) to the domestic sphere that since the first half of this century were in charge of the State. In this process, mothers develops strategies of care and containment taht various between the outsourcing of care accompanied by a growing cientifización and/or a bureaucratization of the care.

Palabras clave : Motherhood; Individualization; Cientifizacion; Bureacratization.
