Abstract

SOPRANO, Germán. Ser militar en la argentina del siglo XXI: entre una vocación, una profesión y una ocupación. Avá [online]. 2013, n.23, pp.00-00. ISSN 1851-1694.

In the analysis of the argentine military in the 20th century, social sciences gave priority to the knowledge of their ideologies and doctrines, political behavior and the exercise of the repressive control of the society between 1930 and 1983, and the civil-military relationships in democracy since December 1983. In a different way, this ethnography results include notions about being military in perspectives and experiences of officers and non-commissioned officers of the Navy at the beginning of the 21st century, that is, in a democratic context, where the Armed Forces have normalized their inscription with the State and national society. We want to know: the personal choices and social influences that impacted at the entrance to the Navy and the military career. Their study allows to recognize that officers and non-commissioned officers defined to be military as a vocation, profession or occupation.
