Abstract

MASTRANGELO, Andrea V.  and  SCHAMBER, Pablo J.. Ensayo sobre posicionamientos bartolomeanos y su legado en el campo de la antropología del ambiente y la ecología. Avá [online]. 2014, n.25, pp.00-00. ISSN 1851-1694.

This article explores the legacy of Leopoldo Bartolomé in Argentinian social anthropology in general, and particularly in the field of ecology and environment. As disciples of Bartolomé, the authors focus their arguments on the review of his publications, utilizing contextual data or the one that emerged from personal communications. From an epistemological point, his legacy was to consider anthropology as a science that prioritizes the research of national social diversity, conflicts, processes of change and development. Institutionally, he created the country’s first postgraduate training on the discipline. On a methodological level, it refers to the crucial importance of ethnographic fieldwork. On a conceptual level, environment equals to surroundings or atmosphere, origin of resources, and basis of social articulation and, therefore, to the value and flows of economy.

Keywords : Leopoldo Bartolomé; Social anthropology; Argentina.
