Resumen

GUGLIELMUCCI, Ana. Identidades fragmentadas: los procesos de identificación forense en casos de desaparición forzada. Avá [online]. 2017, n.30, pp.105-136. ISSN 1851-1694.

This paper explores the relationship between corpse and identity in processes of forensic identification and restitution of unidentified corpses. The article is based on research with forensic experts, families of detained and enforced disappeared persons, as well as survivors of previous centers of clandestine detention in Argentina and other countries of Latin America. Specifically, I address here changes in the relationship between corpse and identity through forensic practices that attribute identities to specific corpses based on medical, anthropological and judicial techniques and knowledge. Furthermore, the article explores how experts and families articulate juridical and administrative identification of corpses or human remains with a malleable social identity that is reconstructed through the memories and experiences of relatives and friends of those who were disappeared.

Palabras clave : Enforced disappearance; Identity; Forensic identification; Corpses restitution.
