The sense of belonging to a particular community of immigrant origin is built around the idea of sharing its members a common origin that, in most cases, refers to a specific territory. This perception is what guarantees the cohesion of a group and establishes a basic inclusion and exclusion criteria. In this article, focusing on a particular case, the Polish community in the province of Misiones, we propose to analyze the ties that its members maintain with the country of their ancestors. At the same time, we will study the image of Poland they have been developing and the events that they evoke to assert themselves as members of the group.
