In this work we are going to analyze the main characteristics of the censorship policy of erotic, pornographic cinema and the control of audiovisual content of a sexual nature by the Chilean military dictatorship between 1974 and 1990, which had among its objectives the disciplining of bodies and desires. Taking into account that practically all local film production was paralyzed during those years in the country, we will focus mainly over the right of exhibition of foreign films. This includes the productions from USA and Europe, but also materials from Argentina and Brazil. We are searching links between the policies of censorship of eroticism and audiovisual pornography and the policies of tolerance to sex-change operations and the lack of legislation in this regard. We investigated the way to intervene in the censorship of the pornography of the Pinochet regime without losing sight of the existence of similar state actions of other national security dictatorships in the Southern Cone during the 70s and 80s, especially in Argentina and Brazil.
