Resumen

CERNO, Leonardo. Portugués, español, alemán y brasilero: Lenguas y variedades en contacto en el Alto Uruguay . Avá [online]. 2019, n.34, pp.131-153. ISSN 1851-1694.

This work presents an approach to the multilingual Portuguese-Spanish speech community in Misiones (Argentina) from a sociolinguistic perspective with focus on the internal structure of the community. Among other traces, this community includes several groups with German as heritage language and we include consequently German in our description. The data for the study proceeds from ethnographic interviews and registers obtained in two rural communities in the east of the province. We postulate the existence of two different language use patterns, both in turn corelated with two series of linguistic attitudes and representations. In the conclusions we formulate some problems and challenges for future research, given that the present article represents a preliminary study for a larger documentation which is planned to be conducted in the upcoming years.

Palabras clave : Portuguese-Spanish in contact; German as heritage language; Language ideologies; Code mixing.
