In this paper, I will address the issue of waiting times regarding the health of subway workers, as a consequence of the asbestos found in train formations on lines A, B, C, D and E. Asbestos is a volatile substance that can produce serious diseases, and even cancer. Although all the workers and users of the subway are in danger due to contact and inhalation of the substance, the main people affected are the people in the workshops, because there is the maintenance and repair of the formations, and that implies being in contact with the ctontaminated parts. In this context, “active” waiting dynamics are generated, because although medical analyzes demand a wait (often long) ont ​​the part of those affected, it also implies the articulation of measures of resistance and construction of collective identities. I will reconstruct the state of the collective conflict regarding the health of the subway workers and users, based on semi-structured interviews with the Rancagua workshops on line B. I chose this workshop due to which constitutes the most active and numerous group in conflict, as well as the first experience.
