Abstract

BONDAR, César Iván. REMEMORACIÓN DE NIÑOS DIFUNTOS: ÁNGELES SOMOS (CORRIENTES, ARGENTINA). Avá [online]. 2020, n.36, pp.345-377. ISSN 1851-1694.

The following article addresses the remembrance of deceased children in the North of the Province of Corrientes, Argentina. We propose a descriptive and interpretive approach of two generic forms of demonstration: children’s walk, either in the afternoon of October 31 or during November 1, and adults serenade, in the early morning of November 1. These practices coincide with two Catholic liturgical celebrations, All Saints Day and All Souls Day. In this article, we focus on describing and analyzing diverse moments of remembrance. We have worked with a Catholic creed population, and we have prioritized the fieldwork carried between 2006 and 2019. We have conducted participant observation with varying levels of involvement, ethnographic interviews, and records in various devices. We have examined secondary sources and family archives.

Keywords : Little Angels; Commemorations; Funeral Memory; Death.
