The study aims to characterize the various perceptions of a group of teachers of rural institutions over the use of ict in their teaching. Qualitative research approach was used; research design was based on a case study, and focus groups and life stories as data collection techniques were used. An interpretive exercise was conducted with content analysis on emerging texts, investigating emerging categories. The study population was constituted rural teachers aged 24-58 years, with a sample of 50 individuals from educational institutions of Boyaca and Cundinamarca. One of the conclusions is the importance of recognizing teachers as a political subject, a subjectivity that builds power. Hence the importance of greater autonomy and decision making on curricular content and channel strategy to strengthen fears and desires for change.
