Abstract

The process of constitution, development and consolidation of a scientific field and its representatives includes intra-scientific and extra-scientific components. The objective is to describe the process of social institutionalization of research in the Academic Units (ua) of the Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition (ln) of Public Universities of the Argentine Republic (ra) since its creation until 2013, through an Descriptive and cross-sectional study. The units of analysis are the spaces the scientific practices of the Nutrition Career academics of Argentine public universities. The information was compiled with Key Informant Interviews and Document Analysis. The systematization of data was performed with analysis of thematic categorical content. Results: in the ln the institutionalization of research was carried out in university establishments geographically and historically diverse. All ua depend on the university institutions where they were created. The institutions offer research teams spaces created at different historical moments and with different nominations (Institutes, Center, Laboratories). At the time of the study, there were no PhDs in the field of nutrition and human nutrition in Argentina's universities.
