Abstract

PAES DELGADO, Karina  and  MILARE, Tathiane. Fake news e ensino de ciências: compreensões e discussões para o ensino e a pesquisa. Cienc. docencia tecnol. [online]. 2022, n.65, pp.12-14. ISSN 1851-1716.  http://dx.doi.org/https://doi.org/10.33255/3365/1190.

On the internet, fake news are easily accessed and shared, negatively influencing the population. In order to avoid them, it is necessary to understand what they are, how they are constituted and how they can be unmasked. Science education is potentially indicated to contribute to a critical education of the population that is necessary to prevent the impacts of fake news. The research questions are: how can we understand fake news and relate them to science teaching? What is the role of teaching and research in science teaching in the face of this phenomenon? Some understandings of fake news and the possibilities of its approach to science education are presented. The results indicate that the use of this theme for science teaching is still a gap in the area, which deserves attention and the need for further discussions.

Keywords : fake news; post-truth; science education research.
