DIOP, Sidy. Socrates as narrator and dialectician (4): the narrative frame in Plato's Euthydemus. Circe clás. mod. [online]. 2004, n.9, pp.123-135. ISSN 1851-1724.
Plato's Euthydemus is one of the Socratic dialogues presented in a narrative form. This method allows for the creation of a twofold communication system standing on two levels. Thus, Socrates appears both as the narrator's face to Criton and also as the speaker's face to the other characters. This narrative plot is the base of a Socratic understatement covered by the mask of irony.
