MARTIN, José Pablo. Philosophy and politics in the early stages of philosophy. Circe clás. mod. [online]. 2004, n.9, pp.137-155. ISSN 1851-1724.

Political and philosophical discourses emerge from social experience, which cannot be understood without a reference to the notion of the assembly. The slow process which begins at the assembly, the place of free inquiry about problems, with no titles required or limits to conjecture defined, is nevertheless difficult to identify in the early stage of Classical Greek Culture. The relations between philosophy and politics are investigated in this article on the basis of a reflection not only on the expressions of Plato's and Aristotle's ideas, but also on those by the Sophists, poets and historiographers, in dialogue with the recent studies by E. Rinesi and J. Gallego.

Palavras-chave : Philosophy; Politics; Dialectics; Aristotle.
