The Christian literature has features of syncretism -models taken from biblical context but realized through Greco-Latin genders and characters- and distinct elements typical of the debate in which it has necessary been engaged with paganism in the field of production and reception. Paulinus of Nola represents a poet emerging from the conflict between pagan and Christian thought in an attempt to create a literature projected from the conversion to the new cultural reality of the West.
