Abstract

TAVARES, Jean Max  and  JUNIOR, Jonas Antônio Vieira. In Search of a Theory for the Development of Tourist Circuits: A Study Applied to the Tourist Circuits of Terras Altas da Mantiqueira and Águas - - Minas Gerais/ Brasil. Estud. perspect. tur. [online]. 2011, vol.20, n.1, pp.90-109. ISSN 1851-1732.

The recognition and certification of Tourist Circuits (TC's) has been one of the strategies adopted by the Government of Minas Gerais to promote tourism in the state. Therefore, aspects of structuring and consolidation of these TC's are important and deserve further investigation by researchers. Thus, this work developed and sought to confirm three hypotheses, namely: a) the capture by the core municipality of a TC geographically closest to, by one or more TC´s municipalities b) the capture by the city center, the TC part c) the capture of TC by one or more private actors prominent members of the same. Through secondary data analysis of TC's Terras Altas da Mantiqueira and Aguas, located in Minas Gerais, it was found that there are strong indications that the first hypothesis is confirmed for the city center TC Aguas in relation to members TC TAM, the second is not confirmed for TC TAM but for TC Aguas, and finally, the third hypothesis can be confirmed for both circuits.

Keywords : Tourist circuits; Município polo; Capture theory.
