Sociology of Tourism in Spanish. An Exploratory Revision of Papers Published in Journals of Spain, Portugal and Latina America during 2003-2013. In order to focus on the academic production about sociology of tourism written in Spanish a review of papers published in academic journals during the period of 2003-2013 was analyzed. The study was conducted with a content analysis methodology in two phases. The first one was a descriptive quantitative content analysis, applying basic bibliometric factors, on a selection of indexed journal articles that explicitly addressed tourism issues from a sociological perspective. The second phase consisted of a qualitative content analysis of a sample of the journal articles with the highest number of publications and citations in the selected period. In this paper there are presented some areas of interest identified and five stances to the sociological study of tourism in Spain, Portugal and Latin America
