Socio-cultural Constructions of the Nude Beach. Between Liminality and Homoeroticism. The liminal role of tourism and homoeroticism serve as analytical references for an analysis of the various cultural constructions in a nude beach in the southern Pacific coast of Mexico. The study reveals that the interactions of male visitors to the beach lend it different meanings that collectively define the use of tourist and recreational space. The construction of the nudist beach is defined by the culture of the participating actors, and presents a highly complex network where the liminal, the homoerotic and the multicultural converge.
