Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the relationship between the entrepreneurial profile and the proneness to innovate, among managers in tourism SMEs, in the Praia Grande District, located in the Historic Center of São Luís, MA (Brazil). The research is quantitative in essence and employed a structured questionnaire composed of five constructs for measuring the entrepreneurial profile and the perception of innovation managers of MSEs. The results show that the entrepreneurial profile correlates with the perception of innovation, in which the highest correlation is between the entrepreneurial and the reasons to innovate, and the lowest correlations are among entrepreneurial profile and difficulties to innovate, as well as reasons for innovate and difficulties to innovate.
