Abstract

MARTIN, Sandra Gisela. Web Visibility and Accessibility of Theses in Library Science and Documentation in Argentina. Inf. cult. soc. [online]. 2013, n.28, pp.51-71. ISSN 1851-1740.

It describes the web visibility and accessibility of research in library and documentation in Argentina by studying dissertations submitted to qualify for the bachelor's degree. It is an exploratory study with quantitative approach where the visibility of theses in catalogs and institutional repositories, the number of theses visible on the web/amount accessible in full text, metadata records in catalogs, metadata records in the repositories, the production of dissertations per year according to web visibility, the number of authors per dissertation as web visibility and thematic distribution of the content of dissertations. It is concluded that the production of dissertations in library science in Argentina is spread on the web and that the visibility and accessibility of these is very low.
