Abstract

RODRIGUES, Marcia. The legal deposit in Argentina: analysis of Law 11.723/1933. Inf. cult. soc. [online]. 2017, n.36, pp.29-42. ISSN 1514-8327.

This article presents a theoretical review on the subject of legal deposit of publications in Argentina, including a review of the law that regulates the legal deposit -Law 11,723 of 1933 September 28- "Regimen legal de la propiedad intellectual", in the light of the recommendations proposed by Larivière in its publication entitled "Guidelines for legal deposit legislation", published in 2000. The analysis of Argentine law demonstrates the need to adapt various issues raised by Larivière (2000). Broadly speaking, the law appears to be obsolete, requiring redesign to suit the purposes of legal deposit, hence, the objectives of the Universal Bibliographic Control.

Keywords : Legal deposit of publications; Argentine Law 11723/1933; Universal Bibliographic Control.
