Resumen

MARINO, G. D.; MAS, M. V.  y  ORLANDONI, M. J.. Seedling morphology and identification of the main lignose native species from the Provincia de Santa Fe, Argentina. Bol. Soc. Argent. Bot. [online]. 2008, vol.43, n.1-2, pp.67-81. ISSN 1851-2372.

As a consequence of the lack of information, the lignose native species from Argentina are considered as invasive species or marginal resources, but almost never as a resource that can be managed inside the rural landscapes. Since they are the potential for the next generation, the tree and bush seedlings and its recognition could be significant for the native forest management. On the basis of the study of 19 characters in normal seedlings of lignose native species from central Argentina (Provincia de Santa Fe), several morphological descriptions were performed and those significant taxonomic characters were chosen. The results of the present work add information about the germination type and the morphological trait of seedlings of 33 lignose native species, including 9 invasive and 13 of high economic value. The systematic key allows the early recognition of the most important woody species of the native forest and has a direct application to the management of its floristic composition and structure.

Palabras clave : Morphology; Germination; Seedlings; Lignose species; Native forest; Santa Fe.
