This contribution presents the results of a study on the caulinar wood of the liana Ephedra tweediana Fisch. & C. A. Mey. emend. J. H. Hunz. (Ephedraceae), carried out through conventional anatomic techniques. The presence of the cambial variant called "lobed stem" is disclosed for the genus for the first time. The presence of reaction wood (expressed by eccentric medulla), diagonal and radial parenchyma, and aggregate rays is mentioned for the species for the first time.
