Abstract

The Aloe vera is a popular plant used in the treatment of certain skin diseases that has a frequent application in cosmetology. It forms a part of diverse creams or gels, being used as anti-inflammatory and restorative of epithelial tissue. Although there are several mechanisms of action and clinical indications, a review of its use should be done supported by controlled trials to determine its effectiveness.
