DIGONZELLI, Patricia A. et al. Effect of planting date on emergence dynamics of high quality CP 65-357 and LCP 85-384 seed cane (hot-water treated and micropropagated). Rev. ind. agríc. Tucumán [online]. 2005, vol.82, n.1-2, pp.45-53. ISSN 1851-3018.

Planting date influence on emergence dynamics of high quality CP 65-357 and LCP 85-384 seed cane (hot-water treated and micropropagated), without humidity constraints, was evaluated. Material used was free from leaf scald disease (Xanthomonas albilineans) and ratoon stunting disease (Leifsonia xyli subsp. xyli). Seed cane, micropropagated and hot-water treated (50ºC, 2 hours), was planted with a 15 buds/m density in three contrasting dates: autumn, winter and spring. The material was irrigated during the trial. Planting date affected all emergence dynamics variables in both varieties and origins. Origin had a significant effect on emergence onset and duration (te and t50), but not on final emergence percentage and average emergence rate. Emergence (%) in October plantations was higher than in May and August plantations (59%, 35% and 45%, respectively). Te and t50 were higher in rows planted in May than in those dating from August and October. Micropropagated seed cane generally presented lower te and t50 values than hot-water treated seed cane. Planting date was the main factor affecting emergence dynamics of high quality CP 65-357 and LCP 85-384 seed cane. Seed cane variety significantly influenced emergence beginning and duration, though on a lesser scale than planting date.
