Abstract

SOCIAS, M. Guillermina et al. Rhyssomatus subtilis Fiedler (Coleoptera: Curculionidae), first record for Argentina and first record of Glycine max (L) Merr. as a host plant. Rev. ind. agric. Tucumán [online]. 2009, vol.86, n.1, pp.43-46. ISSN 1851-3018.

Samplings of insects on soybean crops during 2005/2006, 2006/2007 and 2007/2008 seasons in Northwestern Argentina (NWA) led to the discovery of adults of Rhyssomatus subtilis Fiedler, 1937. This note is the first report of this species in Argentina. In addition, soybean is reported for the first time as a host plant for this species in Argentina.
