Resumen

PEREZ, María L. del P. et al. Emergencia postinvernal y fluctuación poblacional de adultos del picudo perforador de la caña de azúcar, Acrotomopus atropunctellus(Boheman) (Coleoptera: Curculionidae)Post-winter emergence and population fluctuation of sugarcane weevil borer adult, Acrotomopus atropunctellus (Boheman) (Coleoptera: Curculionidae). Rev. ind. agric. Tucumán [online]. 2021, vol.98, n.1, pp.1-11. ISSN 1851-3018.

The objective of this work was to characterize the dynamics of post-winter emergence of Acrotomopus atropunctellus (Boheman) (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) and its population fluctuation at Ranchillos, Tucumán. The emergency monitoring was carried out weekly from November to April during the 2011/2012, 2012/2013 and 2013/2014 season through iron cages buried on the sugar cane furrows. The fixed date of the beginning of temperature accumulation and the lower and upper thermal threshold was estimated. The accumulation start dates tested were 1 January and 1 July and the lower thermal thresholds ranged from 4 to 15 ° C and the upper thermal thresholds were 30, 32 and 34 °C. The coefficient of variation (CV) of cumulative day-grades required for compliance of 25, 50 and 75% of emergency through the three campaigns, for each combination, was calculated. Adult monitoring was conducted weekly during the same period as emergency monitoring. The start date for the thermal accumulation and the combination of development parameters that showed the lowest CV over the years were January 1, lower thermal thresholds of 9 °C and higher thermal thresholds of 32 °C. The adult emergence period of A. atropunctellus in the 2011/2012, 2012/2013 and 2013/2014 campaigns lasted 123, 141 and 132 days and 2082, 2284 and 2087 ° Days, respectively. The correlation between weekly precipitation and emergence was not significant (r = -0.02, p = 0.90). The same result was found in the analysis the correlation between accumulated precipitation and cumulative emergency on a two-week scale (r = 0.11, p = 0.42). The sex ratio in the three seasons did not differ significantly from 1: 1. The population density of adults of the sugarcane weevil in the season varied between 0.13-0.67, 0.03-1.57 and 0.06-1.13 picudos.m-1, respectively.

Palabras clave : thermal thresholds; pest; sexual proportion.
