Resumen
LOPEZ, A. et al. Ibalia leucospoides parasitoid of Sirex noctilio in Córdoba, Argentina. Quebracho (Santiago del Estero) [online]. 2012, vol.20, n.2, pp.68-77. ISSN 1851-3026.
I. leucospoides is a parasitoid in its immature stages and it is a free life adult. It is consider the most efficient parasitoid in the Sirex control. To evaluate the parasitism degree, two trunk pieces, of 1 m length each attacked by S. noctilio, were placed into cages in the field and in the laboratory during four periods, 1997-2001, to capture adults of I. Leucospoides. Analyses of variance were calculated to each sampling period to a split plot in time design following blocks structure. Relationship between both species was evaluated by Pearson correlation. Sex and location variables were not significantly different; while at each sampling date emergencies of I. leucospoides were modified. In regard to the sex ratio, significant differences were not observed, however males prevailed over females. The parasitoid I. leucospoides is the only biological control agent established in the region showing a strong and positive association with S. noctilio behaviour.
