GAILLARD DE BENITEZ, C; PECE, M; JUAREZ DE GALINDEZ, M y ACOSTA, M. Modelling functios of individual biomass and other dendrometric relations of Prosopis nigra in the province of Santiago del Estero, Argentina. Quebracho (Santiago del Estero) [online]. 2014, vol.22, n.1, pp.17-29. ISSN 1851-3026.
The biomass amount of an ecosystem indicates the carbon that it fixes. Black mesquite (Prosopis nigra) integrates the canopy of the dry Chaco Forest , in diverse proportions. The use of functions to estimate trees aerial individual biomass allows calculating de ecosystem biomass. One and two explicative functions calculated using single and multiple regression are presented. The homogeneity of regressions between sites showed that a common equation can be used. The quotient between the greatest crown diameter and its perpendicular not depend on tree diameter, as well as trunk height. The relation of biomass compartments (leaves, branches minor than 5 cm of diameter, branches with more than 5 cm and trunk) with tree diameter were estimated using no lineal regressions.
