Machiavelli´s work receives, mainly, approaches from the political theory studies. In that field, his contribution has been included among the most selected classical authors, those who developed texts that have been constantly revisited without loosing their theoretical vigorness nor their validity. But the Florentine was also an important writer, who gain celebrity among his contemporaries with his dramatic pieces. The analysis of some of these, such as La Mandragora, Clizia or the brief tale Belfagor archidiavolo, wich we propose in this paper, aims to recover this productions as an object of study for political science, on the conviction that a new reading could be made to search the consistencies between Machiavelli´s theoretical works and his literature.
